Dunlop Gala Day
Despite the weather, there was a great turn out for Dunlop Gala Day held on Saturday 6th June 2014. Gala Queen Pippa Harzmeyer ably assited by Rachel Pollock as her Chief Lady in Waiting, Adam Cram as Royal Herald and Logan Morrison as the Queen’s consort officially opened the Gala.
The main arena entertainment, The Drakes of Hazard were perhaps more suited to the weather than those braving the elements to watch, however this didn’t seem to dampen anyone’s spirits. Once again there was great creativity and imagination displayed in both the Children’s fancy dress competition and the scarecrow competition, congratulations to everyone that took part and help to make the Gala a fantastic success.
The day culminated in the usual friendly rivalry of the Tug of War with victory of the men’s competition going to the Auld Hoose’ Auld Tuggers, narrowly beating the Village Inn Vikings, however it was not all disappointment for the Village Inn as the Village Inn Viqueens were victorious over On The Pull for the Auld Hoose in the ladies competition.
