A few months ago, Evie Steel, a pupil at Nether Robertlands Primary in Stewarton, and her family got a new dog, which they named Baxter. Evie thought it might be a good idea to make some biscuits for him for her to pass some time during long lockdown days. The recipe turned out to make a lot more biscuits than Evie had bargained for! Because of lockdown, Evie and her family started walking in Lainshaw Woods with Dexter, and one day Evie came up with the bright idea of making extra biscuits, and selling them to other dog owners, and she would share the profits between SWAT and NHS charities.
At first Evie was selling them from outside her house, using an honesty box and a small shelter to keep them in, but soon it became clear that there was going to be a huge demand, and so Evie the entrepreneur managed to get her “Dexstars” on sale in Gilmartins and the Sugar Cube.
