This local club has been up and running for many years now,
catering for those enthusiasts and beginners alike. There is
a solid core of around 12-15 who attend on a weekly basis,
however we always enjoy welcoming back returning members
and new faces alike.
Every Tuesday and Thursday we host either a distance run or
an interval training session. All activities are tailored for full
inclusion, so regardless of ability everyone can take part. There is
absolutely no competition, as encouragement takes precedence.
The group is supported by five qualified Jog Leaders – Jennifer,
Allison, Karen, Scott and Keith. Through their differing
experience the evenings take on varying formats, where hopefully
everyone that attends gets something they like from them.
We have seen people come along for many reasons. Whether
it is for fitness, fresh air, a race target or just to get out and
‘do something’ it is nice to hear the different stories and help
them along. There are several who considered themselves nonrunners
when they started. However, to see them now you
would never know.
Unlike some other clubs there is no long term financial
commitment. All that is asked is that you sign up through Jog
Scotland, which is free, and come along and enjoy yourself.
