Lainshaw Primary School Superhero day
Primary 2, 3/2 and 3 worked on a Superhero topic this term and learned about fictional and real-life superheroes. As part of this, they learned about the work of the Ayrshire Hospice, which this year is celebrating its 25th anniversary and is seeking fundraising activities connected to the number 25.
To raise money for this very local and very worthwhile charity, the classes hosted a ‘Challenge 25’ day on Thursday, October 10th, in school. The children raised over £1200 through being sponsored for taking part in a variety of 25-minute activities.
In the afternoon, parents and friends were invited to attend a presentation of the children’s work. This took place in the main hall starting at 1.45pm, and allowed guests to see them singing, PowerPoint presentations and a range of children’s work from the Superhero topic.
In keeping with the Challenge 25 theme, superhero anagram sheets and quizzes were on sale for 25p each. We also sold books at 25p, and a range of home-baking at 25p.
