Stewarton Community Action Plan – News
The comprehensive community survey being undertaken throughout Stewarton to determine the key issues and priorities for every resident, trader, club and association within the Town is now in progress. A questionnaire will be delivered to all the households and majority of businesses by a team of volunteers, and is also available from local shops/community centres. Local groups and key businesses will be contacted in the near future to take part in stakeholder interviews to gain their views. Alternatively, the survey can be completed online at:
It is important that everybody receiving a questionnaire participates in order to make their views known. Completed paper questionnaires can be returned either to the volunteers or to the boxes placed in several of the local shops and community centres.
So far (as at 29th July) 1,310 survey returns (the largest number from any community in East Ayrshire) have been received – a very well done to all concerned! The survey will continue until at least 1 September 2015, by which time all the local schools, key community groups, traders and local businesses will have been consulted.
The completed surveys will be analysed and the results collated under themed headings, this will be presented to the wider community asking them to vote on what they see are the priorities for action – during a community event provisionally planned for 14th November 2015. Look out for more publicity about this important milestone in the future development of Stewarton.
The project is being progressed by a steering group of local residents and businesses. If you have some spare time and a passion for making a difference to your community then come and join us!
