Stewarton Woodlands Action Trust
Colour in the woods
We have had a glorious autumn this year, with the trees being more colourful than most people can remember, and many, many people enjoying the last of the sun’s warm rays, as they have strolled along the woodland paths. The birds seemed to be making the most of it as well, singing their hearts out well into November!
Something else colourful in the woods has caught people’s attention, and we are happy that the newly erected dog waste bins have been very well used. On our workdays (second and fourth Sunday of the month from 9am till 11am), we often had to pick up filled dog poo bags that had been thrown into the verges or bushes, but thankfully it has become very rare of late, so everyone is happy!
The Co-op in Stewarton has SWAT as one of its Local Causes, which means that Co-op members can nominate us to receive 1% of what they spend on Co-op branded goods, so if you haven’t already chosen who you’d like your 1% to go to, please consider allocating it to SWAT. The money will help provide more dog waste bins for the town, something that is high on the priority list drawn up by the Stewarton Community Action Plan. We all want to be proud of our town.
As usual, if anyone would like to lend us a hand, please contact us on our Facebook page, or by emailing [email protected] . Also, if you would like to receive our quarterly newletter, drop us an email.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last year, and Happy Christmas to you all.
